World Health Day was celebrated on 08.04.2024 at Sardar Rajas College of Nursing with the theme “My Health, My Right,” featuring poster presentation and slogan writing competitions judged by the Principal and Mrs. Jasmine from Rajas Dental College.

Oral Health Day

World oral health day celebrated on 20.03.2024 at Tirunelveli medical college and hospital. Theme A happy mouth is a happy body. The programme Oral Health Day conducted by 1st year BS.c (N) Totally 50 patient were participated at the end of the mass health education programme .

World Tuberculosis Day

\World Tuberculosis Day was celebrated on 25.03.2024 at Tirunelveli Medical College and Hospital with the theme “Yes! We can end TB.” Students provided health education to patients, emphasizing the importance of ending TB.

World Kidney Day

World Kidney Day, celebrated on 14.03.2024 at Tirunelveli Medical College, focused on “Kidney Health for All.” The program in the Nephrology outpatient department involved 74 patients, with students distributing pamphlets on prevention and lifestyle modifications.

Pongal Day

Pongal was celebrated on 12th January 2024 with joy and tradition at the transport yard, featuring Pongal cooking, cultural songs, traditional games like Uriyadi and Tug of War, and prize distribution, creating a fun-filled festive day.

Inaugural day 2024

The inaugural function for 2024 was held on 4th January at 10:30 AM in the Silver Jubilee Auditorium, organized by SRCN, RDC, SARPC, and Allied Health, with blessings from Rev. Fr. Singa Raja and Chairman Dr. Jacob Raja.

As part of Nutrition Week in the first week of September, our students participated in the “Nutrifest” competition by Rajas Medical Institution, showcasing CHO, protein, and fat-rich foods, winning prizes in cooking and poster presentation events.

Christmas Festival Celebration

Rajas Medical Institution celebrated Christmas with festive spirit on 23rd December in the Silver Jubilee Auditorium. Coordinated by Sardar Rajas College of Nursing, the event featured a welcome address, prayer song, and a spiritual speech by Fr. Dominic Royle.

World Cancer Day

World Cancer Day was observed on 3rd February 2023 by 1st year B.Sc(N) students with the theme “Close the Care Gap.” A panel discussion on cancer awareness was organized by students at the college seminar hall that day.

Lamp Lighting Ceremony

The Lamp Lighting Ceremony for the 13th batch of B.Sc(N) students was held on 09.12.2023 at the Silver Jubilee Auditorium, presided over by Chairman Dr. Jacob Raja and Chief Guest Dr. Rajamani, who inspired students with encouraging words.

The talent show was conducted by our first-year B.Sc(N) students on 27th October 2023 in the seminar hall, showcasing their skills and creativity through various performances that brought energy, enthusiasm, and joy to the entire audience present..

Fresher’s Day, titled “UDBHAV FEST 23,” was organized by second-year B.Sc(N) students for the first years on 5.10.2023 in the seminar hall, featuring welcome, cultural events, self-introduction, games, and prize distribution by the seniors.

World Heart Day was celebrated on 29.09.2023 by 2nd year B.Sc(N) students through mass health education using posters, dance, and various teaching methods. The event began with a welcome dance and featured awareness talks by health officers and nurses.

Research Proposal was conducted on 22.08.2023 at 9:30 AM in the seminar hall for B.Sc(N) 3rd year students, attended by the Principal, Vice Principal, Professors, M.Sc staff, 2nd and 3rd years, and all departmental HODs.

Onam was celebrated on 29.08.2023 in our college garden as a vibrant cultural event. Staff and students in traditional attire enjoyed programs like dance and singing. Chairman graced the occasion, and prizes were distributed to student performers and winners.

World Diabetes Day was celebrated on 5.12.2023 at 9 AM in Tirunelveli Government Medical College and Hospital by B.Sc(N) second-year students under the theme “Access to Diabetes Care,” providing health education and awareness to the patients.

The School Health Programme was conducted on 23.10.2023 at Government High School, Kavalkinaru Junction, Tirunelveli District. Topics covered included the prevention of childhood accidents and dental caries, aiming to create awareness and promote better health among school children.

Safe Delivery Day was conducted on 11.04.2023 by final-year students at Urban PHC with the theme “Remain at home amid coronavirus, protect mother and infant.” Students gave mass health education to pregnant women and their families on safe delivery.

World Liver Day was conducted on 20.04.2023 at the Primary Health Centre with the theme “Be vigilant, do a regular liver check-up – fatty liver can affect anyone.” Final-year students gave mass health education, inaugurated by Dr. Kollappan.

GRADUATION DAY

The graduation ceremony for the 8th batch of B.Sc(N) students was held on 13.04.2024 at the Silver Jubilee Auditorium. Chief Guest Dr. Kollappan and Chairman Dr. Jacob Raja addressed the event, with 50 graduates and Ms. Ganeshwari awarded best outgoing student.

WORLD HEALTH DAY

World Health Day was celebrated on 21.04.2023 with a tree plantation drive on campus. Led by the Principal, Vice Principal, and staff, students enthusiastically participated, spreading awareness on environmental care and the significance of greenery through active involvement.

GRADUATION DAY:

The 10th Graduation Ceremony was held on 14th June 2024 at the Silver Jubilee Auditorium. Dr. Prince Sreekumar Pius, Dean of Kanyakumari Medical College, and Dr. Jacob Raja were the chief guests. Around 50 students graduated, with a strong emphasis on the importance of nursing care and profession. Ms. Vishnusri was honored with the Best Outgoing Student Award.

INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY:

The International Yoga Day was celebrated on June 21, 2024, in our college seminar hall. The theme was “Yoga for Self and Society,” emphasizing holistic well-being. Students actively participated, embracing the benefits of physical and mental health. The event promoted mindfulness and the timeless value of yoga in daily life

DRUG ABUSE DAY:

Drug Abuse Awareness Day was observed on 22nd June 2024 at the De-addiction Centre. The event aimed to raise awareness about the growing issue of drug trafficking and substance abuse. It emphasized treating individuals with empathy, respect, and dignity rather than stigma or punishment. The program promoted evidence-based, voluntary treatment as a more effective and humane approach.

COLLEGE DAY:

The College Day was celebrated on 06.07.2024 at 10 AM in the Silver Jubilee Auditorium. Chief Guest Mr. Robert Brus, MP of Tirunelveli, graced the occasion along with our Chairman Dr. Jacob Raja. Principal Dr. Lizy Merlin Lisha presented the annual report, and academic achievers were honored with awards. The event concluded with vibrant cultural performances by students, ending at 1 PM.

WORLD BREAST FEEDING DAY:

World Breastfeeding Day was observed on August 1, 2024, with the theme “Closing the Gap; Breastfeeding Support for All.” IV Year B.Sc(N) students conducted the event at Tirunelveli Medical College Hospital. They educated postnatal mothers on breastfeeding techniques, positions, and postnatal nutrition. The session received active participation, fostering awareness and maternal support.

WORLD BONE & JOINT WEEK DAY:

World Breastfeeding Day was observed on August 1, 2024, with the theme “Closing the Gap; Breastfeeding Support for All.” IV Year B.Sc(N) students conducted health education for postnatal mothers at Tirunelveli Medical College Hospital. The session focused on breastfeeding techniques, positions, and nutrition, with active participation from mothers.

SUBSTANCE USE DAY:

As part of the B.Sc(N) III Year Mental Health Nursing requirement, a program on substance use disorder was conducted on 12.08.2024 at the De-Addiction Ward, Tirunelveli Medical College Hospital. Students performed a psychodrama and delivered psychoeducation on causes, symptoms, complications, and prevention. The event, held from 11 AM to 12 PM, was graced by Chief Guest Dr. Ramesh Boothpathi, MD, Psychiatrist.

ANNUAL SPORTS DAY 2024

The Annual Sports Day was held from 19th to 24th August 2024 with various group and athletic events. The final day was graced by Mr. Mahesh Kumar, DSP, and Mr. Antony Dhas, TNPL cricketer, as chief guests. Miss Bagavathy and Mr. Aakash Newbhien were declared individual champions, and Final Year B.Sc(N) Gallants won the overall trophy.

WORLD RABIES DAY:

THEME: “BREAKING RABIES BOUNDARIES” World rabies day celebrated on 13.9.2024 in Tirunelveli Medical College and Hospital under the theme of “Breaking Rabies Boundaries” 2nd year B.Sc(N) students celebrated World Rabies Day. They conducted through Mass Health education, role play and Game. They taught about rabies symptoms, treatment and complication under the theme of “Breaking Rabies Boundaries”.

IN SERVICE EDUCATION:

Final Year B.Sc(N) students conducted an In-Service Education on Material Management on 16.09.2024 at Tirunelveli School of Nursing. The program included presentations, a hospital-based role play, and a quiz competition for GNM students. The School of Nursing Principal felicitated the event and appreciated the students’ active participation.

GYNECOLOGICAL AWARNESS DAY:

Final Year B.Sc(N) students observed International Gynecological Awareness Day on September 10, 2024, at Tirunelveli Medical College and Hospital. WORLD SUCIDE PREVENTION DAY:

THEME ; Changing the Narrative on Suicide The triennial theme for world suicide prevention day for 2024 -2026 is Changing the Narrative on Suicide. This theme aims to raise awareness about the importance of reducing stigma and encouraging open conversation to prevent suicides on September 10th, our 2nd year B.Sc(N) students conducted in Tirunelveli Medical College & Hospital.

Theme: “Use Heart for Action” World Heart Day was celebrated on September 27, 2024, by II Year B.Sc(N) students at Tirunelveli Medical College & Hospital. Students provided health education on heart diseases, focusing on prevention, symptoms, and treatment strategies. The program aimed to raise public awareness and promote global action against cardiovascular diseases.

LAMP LIGHTING CEREMONY:

The Lamp Lighting Ceremony for the 14th batch of B.Sc(N) students was held on 30th November 2024 at the Silver Jubilee Auditorium. Dr. Ramalakshmi and Mrs. Sabina Jacob graced the event, which included the passing of the light and the nursing pledge. The Chief Guest highlighted the noble role of nurses and the need to prioritize compassionate patient care.

CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION:

Rajas Medical Institutions celebrated the Christmas Festival on 21st December at 10:30 AM in the Silver Jubilee Auditorium. The event began with a prayer and spiritual message by Rev. Fr. John Christopher, followed by a presidential address and cake-cutting ceremony. Students from Dental, Pharmacy, Nursing, Allied Health Sciences, and Arts & Science performed vibrant cultural programs.

PONGAL CELEBRATION 2025

Pongal was joyfully celebrated on 13.01.2025 at the Nursing College campus, marking gratitude to nature and the harvest season. The celebration began with traditional Pongal cooking and festive songs by students, creating a vibrant atmosphere. Dr. Jacob Raja, Chairman of Rajas Medical Institutions, was the Chief Guest, with Principal Dr. Lizy Merlin Lisha presiding over the event.

ANNUAL SPORTS DAY ;

The Annual Sports Day was celebrated from 8th to 13th January 2025 with various group and athletic events for both men and women. The event was inaugurated by Dr. Lalit Kumar, IPS, on 8th January, and prizes were distributed on 13th January at 2 PM. Pabin from Yazhi won the individual boys trophy, and Valari team secured both the overall and boys team trophies, while Yavanar won the girls team trophy.

WORLD EARTH DAY

World Earth day celebrated on April 22, 2024 in our college THEME: “PLANET VS PLASTICS” Tree plantation done on world earth day in our college campus. Tree plantation on is the process of transplanting Tree seedlings, generally for forestry, land reclamation or landscaping purposes. Theme: “Land Restoration, Desertification and Drought Resilience” World Environment Day was celebrated on June 5, 2024, in Panakudi by Final Year B.Sc Nursing students through poster presentations, role plays, and awareness activities. The event began with Tamil Thai Vazhthu, included environmental-themed games, and concluded with prize distribution and the national anthem.

WORLD BLOOD DONOR DAY:

THEME: “20 YEARS OF CELEBRATING GIVING THANK YOU BLOOD DONORS” World blood donor day conducted on June 14 each year. The event was organized for the first time in 2005, by joint initiative of the World Health Organization, The International Federation of Red cross and Red crescent societies to raise awareness of the need for safe blood and blood products. In our college blood donation camp was held on 14.6.2024.
